Office and specialist support jobs profiles

Office Administrators are essential to the functions of any non-profit and public sector organisation. Our administration candidates are all expert communicators, efficiently organising and supporting activities across a business, ensuring that their employer can meet their obligations and achieve their goals.

The executive support candidates TPP can source are experts in assisting management, director and c-suite staff. As the main point of contact between external stakeholders and business leaders, our executive support talent pool possesses specialist skills in diary and travel management, managing budgets and processing expenses, alongside technical reporting duties.

Operations professionals will ensure that the organisations they work for are functionally efficient, that all activities are practical and work towards their employer’s short and long-term strategy. TPP can source innovative and ambitious operations staff at all levels of seniority, from support staff to management and Chief Operating Officers.

Legacy Support Administrators focus on the management of legacies to optimise the benefit from each estate in which they are a beneficiary. This department works closely with the legacy fundraising and finance teams, and substantial knowledge of probate, trusts, tax and property-related issues (as related to charitable legacies), alongside experience of the legal environment are often required of candidates looking to enter this area of specialist support. Many candidates will also hold a legal or legacy administration qualification, such as being a solicitor or holding an ILEX, STEP Membership or CiCLA qualification.

Membership Officers and Managers oversee the recruitment process for new members, alongside developing a robust attraction and retention strategy and a framework for managing applications. Essential requirements for candidates looking at these specialist support roles include impeccable customer service skills, organisation, excellent knowledge of administering and maintaing databases, alongside experience in handling high volumes of data.

Programme opportunities are commonly attached to the services provided by non-profit or public sector organisations. Often required to coordinate or manage remote teams of frontline staff, the programme team are responsible for the over-arching strategy and assessing the performance of each programme, rather than physical service or project delivery. Typical jobs within this field are Programme Coordinator, Programme Assistant, Programme Officer or Programme Manager.

Project management professionals are responsible for initiating, planning, executing and assessing a piece of work, often facilitating the cooperation and engagement of multiple internal or external stakeholders. Many project vacancies are interim or short-term placements, mirroring the length of the project in question – for instance, a 12-month Change Management Project or a 6-month IT Project. Candidates will need to have excellent time management and organisational skills, as well as possess the ability to deliver and communicate effectively their innovative project management solutions.

Whilst there is not a high volume of research opportunities across the non-profit sector – since many organisations outsource their research projects to universities and think-tanks – elements of research are often found in a number of roles across insight, evaluation, policy, communications and data governance. Many of these roles require candidates to have qualitative and quantitative research skills, as they will manage and analyse survey and questionnaire results to improve service provision. Typical roles within the field include Data or Customer Insight Managers, Research Assistants and Research Officers.

Data specialists are a crucial part of the success of any non-profit organisation. Candidates with specialist analytical knowledge are always in demand within the sector. We work with data professionals with specialist knowledge of the non-profit sector, including databases such as Raiser’s Edge, ThankQ, Salesforce, MS Dynamics, Alms, Donor Strategy, as well as tools such as FastStats and Tableau. Professionals with skills in SQL scripting and report writing, project or data management, analysis and modelling are often ideal candidates for these roles.

Jobs in Supporter Services focus primarily on maximising the support which non-profit and public sector organisations receive through donations. This typically involves liaising with external individuals and organisations, as well as working with suppliers who have been instructed to process donations. Candidates for these roles will need the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider supporter care team. Good numeracy, attention to detail and organisational skills are a necessity in these roles.

Monitoring, evaluation and impact are integral to the resiliency of non-profit and public sector organisations, especially where reports to boards of trustees, funding partners or external stakeholders are concerned. Our candidates are experienced in supporting businesses in improving their management of outputs, with transferable skills in evaluating outcomes and impacts.

The volunteer managers that TPP recruits are experts in managing the work of volunteers within the non-profit and public sectors. Our volunteer management candidates enable businesses to deliver impactful services by possessing specialist knowledge in compliance, induction and training, as well as organisational duties such as organising rotas and cover.
