Role title: Community Lunch Cook

Main purpose of the role: To cook a simple vegetarian main and/or pudding for about five families (about 15 portions)

What you will be doing:

  • To help prepare, serve and clear a lunch for local families
  • When and where you will be doing it: Up to 3 hrs probably Monday or Tuesday - from 1 -4 weeks per month Cooking in an Environmental Health approved kitchen such as in the Crypt beneath St Mary’s, plus attending a meeting each school term
  • Meetings in St Mary’s

Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Requirements: Probably Enhanced: children & adult

Who you will be responsible to: Rev Catherine Shelley, Crypt team leader

Training requirements:

  • Safeguarding training – online course or can be done in person
  • Food safety and env health approval- home kitchen if needed

Support you will be given:

  • Induction, termly meetings, feedback.
  • A supportive team of up to 20 volunteers with 5-6 working each week, you will be alongside another Cook and will be offered recipes and resources required.
  • Reasonable adjustments as required
