Job role: Hourly Paid Lecturer in Health & Social Care

Location: London campus, with options to work remotely where necessary

Pay: £41.92 per hour + holiday entitlement (18.03%)

Hours: Hourly paid, fixed term (2 years initially)

This leading university operates in a dynamic, multicultural environment, with multiple intakes per year and continuous cycles of learning, teaching, and recruitment. Serving approximately 4,000 non-residential students, offering a wide range of programmes including Certificates of Higher Education, Honours degrees, Masters, and Doctoral studies, with some courses also available on weekends to meet diverse student needs.

As an Hourly Paid Lecturer in Health & Social Care, you will contribute to our dynamic learning environment, teaching modules that may include Public Health, Digital Health Promotion, Quality Assurance in Health & Social Care, and more. Responsibilities include designing high-quality learning materials, delivering engaging lectures, supporting students' academic and personal growth, and providing feedback on assessments.

As a Health and Social Care Lecturer you will be required to:

  • Develop a range of teaching and assessment materials, covering specified modules to include Public Health, Epidemiology, Digital Health Promotion, Quality Assurance in Health and Social Care, Partnership Working and Service Integration in Health and Social Care Systems, Mental Health, Ageing, Physiology and Psychology Level 4-7.

  • Deliver teaching and learning strategies in a variety of contexts, such as, online or blended learning teaching and learning, seminar and small group tutorials to large-group lectures, workshops and/or placements

  • Offer appropriate advice, feedback, support, and encouragement to students, in both an academic and personal tutor role, to ensure a high-quality student experience.

  • Undertake relevant administrative tasks to ensure the effective operation and management

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Public Health, Epidemiology, Digital Health Promotion)
  • Experience in teaching, assessment, and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Higher Education.
