The individual appointed to this role will be expected to work within the policy and procedures and attend all required training.  

Name of church/body: St Mary’s Church

Role title: Lunch set up and clear up /serving

Main purpose of the role: To provide local families a lunch.

What you will be doing:

  • To set up crockery and cutlery etc for community lunch and clear away, load dishwasher.
  • To serve a lunch and pudding to families (table service).

When and where you will be doing it:               

  • St Mary’s Crypt
  • From 1- 4 times a month, probably Tuesday /Monday (approx 3 hours)
  • + 1 team meeting per term

Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Requirements: Enhanced child and adult check

Who you will be responsible to: Week to week Rev Catherine Shelley, Lucy Tull and the organising team; and overall to the PCC (trustees)

Training requirements: 

  • Induction
  • Safeguarding online or in person
  • Food hygiene

Support you will be given:

  • Induction, training, regular check in and termly meeting
  • Volunteering alongside another volunteer to set up/serve and clear away
  • Reasonable adjustments as needed (but mobility is required for this role)
